Chroma has released the official trailer for Operation Taco Gary’s, an upcoming sci-fi comedy from debut filmmaker Mikey K. The film, which is set to release in theaters later this month, features an ensemble cast that includes Simon Rex (Red Rocket, Blink Twice), Dustin Milligan (“Schitt’s Creek,” A Simple Favor), Brenda Song (“Running Point.” The Last Showgirl), Tony Cavalero (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Arturo Castro (The Menu), and Doug Jones (“Star Trek: Discovery”, The Shape of Water), with Jason Biggs (American Pie).

In the spirit of Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Operation Taco Gary’s follows two brothers who embark on a cross-country road trip that quickly devolves when they become involved in a global conspiracy.

“The movie was born when the world stopped making sense, but instead of panicking, we ordered some tacos with a side of ketamine and made a movie,” said Mikey K in a statement. “So yeah, this is a love letter to bad ideas, brothers, conspiracies, and the strange comfort of chaos. It’s meant to be enjoyed in theaters with your fellow earthlings.”

“This film is pure comic momentum, full of nonstop jokes, infectious fun, and the exact kind of shared experience Chroma wants audiences to have,” said Chroma Vice President Ahbra Perry in a statement when they acquired the film last month. “The world may feel chaotic, but laughing together is still essential, and Operation Taco Gary’s makes that feel effortless. There’s also something comforting about an alien invasion led by Doug Jones.”

The film was brought together by Rotten Science and Mosaic, who have made comedy specials with comedians like Brett Goldestein, and Marcello Hernandez, and movies like Step Brothers, Talladega Nights, and Please Don’t Destroy.

Kingsman‘s Matthew Vaughan produced, with executive producers Rex, Milligan, Jimmy Miller (The Other Guys, Elf), M. Riley (Bad Teacher), Brian David Cange (Marjorie Prime), Jack Sheehan (You Gotta Believe), Scott Martin (The Best Man), Michael Thomas Slifkin (Exit Protocol), Bill Dawes, Patricia Lamond, Viviana Zarragoitia, and David Gendron. 

Operation Taco Gary’s will be released in select theaters in collaboration with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on February 27, 2026.
